Forming an Event Management Company

Following steps can be adopted to form an event management company:

1. Decide the services you wish to sell.


2. Do market research, market analysis, product analysis, competitors analysis and SWOT analysis.


3. Prepare your business and marketing plan i.e.

  • "How you are going to promote your organization? How you are going to build its image?

  • How you will find and approach clients? How you will sell your services.

  • What will be your rules, regulations, policies and procedures regarding payments, reimbursement, penalties, cancellation and behavior?

  • What is the mission and vision of your organization?

  • How will be the organizational structure (i.e. staffing needs) and what should be the skill set of the staff?

 

4. On the basis of business and marketing plan determine your operating cost i.e. the cost to run the business.


5. On the basis of the operating cost, decide your own fees and the staff salary.


6. With the help of market research, market analysis, product analysis, competitors analysis and SWOT analysis' reports, business and marketing plan get investors/ business partners for your organization.


7. Decide name and logo of your organization and its status (i.e. whether organization will be a company, firm or establishment).


8. Hire office. Buy office stationary and recruit staff.


9. If you have opened a company then get it registered under the Company's Act'. If you have opened a firm then get it registered under the 'Indian Partnership Act'. If you have opened an establishment, then get it registered under the 'Shops and Establishment Act'.


10. Get PAN card to file Income Tax return. TAN card to file TDS return. Get registration for service tax.
